Biography
Caria Castro Rivas is an Associate Attorney at Termechi Employment Law Group. Ms. Rivas specializes in all areas of labor and employment law, including claims of discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wage and hour matters (e.g. overtime, meal/rest breaks, misclassification).
Ms. Rivas has over a decade of pre-litigation, litigation, and trial experience. Prior to joining Termechi Employment Law Group, Ms. Rivas was employed in public service at the Los Angeles County Counsel’s Office and District Attorney’s Office and practiced at a non-profit organization as a trial attorney.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Rivas attended the California State University, Los Angeles, where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science and her Paralegal Studies Certificate. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Western State College of Law. During law school, Ms. Rivas earned the Witkin Award in Legal Research and Writing for receiving the highest grade in her class, participated in the honors summer externship program, volunteered at a community immigration clinic, and clerked at a well-regarded law firm in Encino.
Outside of work, Ms. Rivas volunteers her time to the public. She taught English as a Second Language at a community center in El Sereno and coached high school cross country and track in La Puente.
